Disclaimer and Terms and Conditions for NIF Workshops
Purpose and Scope
All workshops offered by the NextGen InterArts Foundation ("NIF") are designed as non-profit, educational, and community-based programs aimed at fostering creative engagement, personal development, and artistic exploration. Workshops may be delivered either in person or through virtual platforms, depending on the format. Participation in any format is entirely voluntary. These programs are not intended to serve as medical, psychological, or therapeutic treatment and should not be interpreted or relied upon as such.
Code of Conduct and Mutual Respect
NIF is committed to cultivating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all individuals involved in its programming. By participating in any NIF workshop, all individuals agree to:
-
Treat facilitators, volunteers, and fellow participants with courtesy and respect.
-
Refrain from disruptive, discriminatory, harassing, or inappropriate behavior.
-
Respect personal boundaries and confidentiality where applicable.
-
Follow instructions provided by workshop leaders and organizers.
-
Maintain appropriate behavior and virtual etiquette when participating online (e.g., appropriate dress, respectful language, camera/microphone use). Participants must also ensure a distraction-free, secure digital environment to the extent possible.
Failure to comply with these expectations may result in removal from the session or future program restrictions.
Acknowledgment of Risks & Informed Consent
Participants in NIF workshops should be aware that activities may involve creative, physical, emotional, or sensory engagement depending on the format (e.g., art-making, writing, sound, movement). These workshops are intended for educational and experiential enrichment only and are not substitutes for professional therapy or medical care.
Some sessions may prompt emotional release, physical discomfort, or increased sensitivity depending on individual responses. Participants are responsible for monitoring their own well-being and are expected to consult a medical professional in advance if they have any health-related concerns.
Parental Consent for Minors
Minors under the age of 18 must have consent from a parent or legal guardian to participate in any NIF-led workshop. Parents/guardians are encouraged to review program content in advance and communicate any relevant health or behavioral considerations to organizers. For online workshops, minors must also have access to a supervised and appropriate digital environment.
Release of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, NIF and its facilitators (including but not limited to Liyuan Ji) shall not be held liable for any claims, liabilities, damages, injuries, or losses that may arise from participation. This includes, but is not limited to: personal injury, emotional distress, medical complications, technology failures, data breaches, or loss or theft of personal property.
Indemnification
Participants (or their guardians) agree to indemnify and hold harmless NIF, its board, staff, contractors, and volunteers from any legal action, financial liability, or reputational harm arising from their participation in workshops, whether in person or online.
Media and Photography Disclaimer
Workshops may be documented through photos, video, or audio recordings for educational, archival, or promotional use by NIF. For online sessions, screenshots or screen recordings may also be taken. Participants who do not wish to be photographed, recorded, or included in digital captures must notify organizers in writing prior to the event.
Medical Emergency Consent
In the event of a medical emergency during a live (in-person or online) session, NIF may seek appropriate assistance (e.g., first aid, emergency responders) and contact a participant’s listed emergency contact when available. All resulting costs remain the responsibility of the participant or their guardian.
Right to Modify or Cancel
NIF reserves the right to modify workshop content, schedule, platform, location, or facilitators at its discretion. NIF may also cancel workshops due to safety concerns, low enrollment, technical issues, or unforeseen circumstances without liability for compensation.
